Anything that is not serving you -- let it go!

Anything that is not serving you -- let it go!

We have come together from as far away as Dubai, Japan and Brazil, from Los Angeles, the Bay Area, San Diego, Mexico City, and some of our group is from here in Cabo too! It’s been an incredible month. I will miss this wonderful group when our training finishes in a few days. Time is passing so quickly. Breathe into every moment. Enjoy this incredible time as much as you can. Love everyone. Life is too short. Hold space for people. Pass on what you are learning and keep learning and growing yourself. Anything that is not serving you — let it go. Anyone that is dragging you down — let them go. There are such amazing people in the world. If you start vibrating on the right frequency they will find you. Send out your signal. Yoga encourages us to change ourselves. Don’t ask the world to change for you. Shift your perspective and change your relationship to the world. Namaste, Everyone! Grateful for this amazing group that has come together for this training and for all the wonderful blessings in my life right now.

Take a journey to the center of your Self!

Take a journey to the center of your Self!

Take a journey to the center of your Self! Walk to the center of your wheel. Yoga is a shift of perspective. The ego says, ‘I want the world to change for me!’ Yoga says, ‘change yourself and your relationship to the world will change too.’ What’s left over when you peel off the layers and let go of your body, mind, thoughts, ego, and emotions? What’s left over in the stillness, in the silence? What does at feel like to sit at the center of the wheel? Look at all the drama, all the noise, all the thoughts, way out at the outer edges. What’s left over in the stillness and the silence? You. The most subtle aspect of who you are. Sit in the center of your Self. Look at your thoughts. Look at your mind. Experience the true nature of your Self.

Shine the Light on Yourself

Shine the Light on Yourself

When we are identifying with the ego we often judge others very harshly.  We place expectations on people.  We hold the world up to a very high standard and we punish those who don't meet that standard.  The irony is that, when we are doing this, we often don't hold ourselves up to the same standard.  When we identify with the ego, we want everyone else to change, and the world to change around us.  We don't want to change ourselves at all, yet, often, we are the ones who need to change the most. When we are filled with judgment of others, we aren't really very far along on our path.  Shine the light on yourself.  Change yourself and your relationship to the world.  If you find yourself judging and criticizing other people, know that this is not helping you on your journey.  You're not only NOT helping the people you are judging, who would benefit far more from your compassion and kindness, but you aren't helping YOURSELF either.

A New President.

A New President.

Well, here we are...

It's been a pretty crazy election year. I was genuinely shocked last night to see the results come in.

I have tried to not get that caught up in the election this past year but I have followed it and have wanted to stay informed. I did not think Donald Trump would win at all. I thought it would be close. I thought it was a huge wake up call for all of us. I thought there is no way that he has a chance to win, though. I thought the candidacy started as a joke. It was a train wreck. It was outrageous. Then there was a point where it stopped being funny and it made me sad.
So, now what? What do we do now?

Well, it happened. Yes. This has happened. Yes. Donald Trump was elected to be the next President of the United States of America.

The way you do anything is the way you do everything.

The way you do anything is the way you do everything.

The way you do anything is the way you do everything.  One simple shift in yoga on your mat will help you make the same shift off your mat.  The microcosm is the macrocosm.  The conflict in me is the conflict I see in the world.  My transformation will have an impact on the world around me.  I know it will.  Your transformation will have an impact on the world around you too.  I know it will.  It's time for us to become more loving, more kind and more compassionate.  Will you do this with me?  That's my reaction to the conflict, the anger and the hate I see in the world.  I will love more fully.  I will be more kind.  I will be more compassionate.  I will be more of service.  Join me and let's change this world together one action at a time.

Unload Your Stuff...

Unload Your Stuff...

We carry around our backpack full of stuff with us everywhere we go. If you never turn inward and look at your stuff and give it a chance to process and release, you never unload anything from your backpack. Your stuff just keeps piling up and the load you are carrying gets heavier and heavier.

Find stillness and concentrate.  Let the mind turn inward.  Let the fire build.  Sit in the fire and look at your stuff.  Let it come up.  Let it process.  Let it release.   Breathe into it and then breathe it out. This is the work.  The more stuff you are holding onto, the more stuff you have pushed down, the more stuff you are carrying around in your backpack, the longer it will take for you to dig yourself out and to unload your backpack.
