What’s the purpose of learning proper alignment in a pose?
This workshop will teach students how to breakdown an asana!
Students will look specifically at the standing warm up poses and standing balance poses often taught and practiced in a vinyasa flow class. We will explore these poses and examine: foundation, drishti, applying Newton’s 3rd Law, dividing the body into platforms, the purpose of alignment, the mountain pose principle, fixed vs. moving parts, basic warm up poses, the tug of war principle, actions vs. counter actions and examine suitable counter poses.
