A fun and playful workshop that will explore many of the arm balances practiced regularly in class. In this workshop, we will break down alignment in several poses and learn helpful tools, tips and tricks to deepen our arm balancing practice. More than just brute strength, balancing on the arms requires; concentration, determination and an understanding of the key muscles involved and the actions that need to be executed in order to achieve and maintain balance. Students will also explore preparation poses that help prepare the body for more challenging arm balances. This workshop is an all levels workshop but is not suitable for absolute beginners or those who do not have some interest and experience balancing on their arms.
What is meditation? How do you meditate? What is the goal of meditation?
This meditation workshop will explore a variety of different meditation techniques, meditation postures, and the philosophy that informs the practice. Students will also learn meditation preparation, as well as techniques to help them withdraw the mind and senses from the outer world. Meditation on various objects will be explored, moving from the gross to the subtle, and culminating with a seedless meditation, a meditation without an object of concentration.
